The Preview page lets you interact with your widget exactly as a visitor would — without leaving the dashboard.

Layout

The page is split into two panels:
  • Left panel — Status information and quick actions
  • Right panel — A live, interactive widget iframe
The widget on the right is a real instance connected to your workspace. Messages you send go through the same AI pipeline as visitor messages, so you can verify responses, test conversation starters, and check appearance settings.

Status Panel

The left panel shows:
  • Widget status — Whether the widget is enabled and connected
  • AI configuration status — Whether an AI provider is configured and the connection is working
  • Offline mode status — Whether offline mode is enabled and what fallback behavior is configured
  • Configured conversation starters — A preview of the starter prompts visitors will see

Quick Actions

  • Test Chat — Opens the widget on the right so you can start a conversation. Conversation starters appear just as they would for a visitor.
  • Reload Widget — Refreshes the widget iframe. Use this after making changes to settings, appearance, or personalities to see the updated version.
  • Embed Code — Opens a modal with the embed snippet for your site. Click to copy it to your clipboard.

What to Test

  • Conversation starters — Verify they appear correctly and lead to useful responses.
  • AI responses — Ask questions that match your knowledge base content and verify accuracy.
  • Appearance — Check that colors, position, avatar, and text match your brand.
  • Offline mode — If enabled, temporarily disconnect your AI provider (or use an invalid key) to see the fallback decision tree in action.
  • Forms — Trigger form flows and verify fields, labels, and submission behavior.

Tips

  • Preview after every change. It takes seconds and catches issues before visitors encounter them.
  • Test edge cases. Ask questions your knowledge base doesn’t cover and verify the bot handles them gracefully.
  • Check on mobile. If your site has mobile visitors, resize your browser to see how the widget adapts.
